Alentejo
Alentejo is an extensive region which covers almost a third of Portugal. The north borders with Tejo river and at south to the hills of the Algarve. East shares a border with Spain and the west opens on the Atlantic Ocean. It is essentially rural and with low population density, offering a flat landscape and well kept. Its beauty and the abundance and quality of its monuments, architecture and gastronomy make it a perfect location for a tour of nature and culture.
The Alentejo landscape asks you to choose the back roads instead of highways, being the best way to appreciate the plain, its endless cork trees, its vineyards, cultivated fields and olive groves. It also allow the contact with its people which are hospitable by nature.
